These two devices are economically priced and are distinguished by their high-resolution front-facing cameras that have a wide-angle lens, making it perfect for capturing a selfie for your social media profile photos, according to Business Insider.

The selfie phones at a glance: Lumia 730 and 735

The wide-angle lens is expected to give these two budget-range phones a good chance at competing with higher end phones on the market. The lens on the front-facing 5MP phone can capture a much wider view than traditional camera lenses. The camera also features facing detection and automatic adjustment of exposure for best results.

Microsoft reps were quoted saying the Lumia 730 and 735 would have been better than the Samsung Galaxy Note that 2014 Oscars host Ellen used at the ceremony earlier this year. The photo went viral and garnered event sponsor Samsung considerable coverage, but Microsoft reps claimed that these latest Lumia phones would have taken a better viral selfie.

True to the range’s theme and purpose, the Nokia Lumia 730 and 735 come with a pre-installed selfie app that allows users to tweak and alter their selfies with a range of filters and effects settings.

The app allows users to enhance the entire photo or just a part of the image. For example, users can use it to whiten teeth or to brighten a particular person or area of focus. The phones also come with a complimentary three-month subscription to Skype Unlimited World.
